For a better world - A Panarchist approach (June 2005)

Many people are asking what should be done about the looming dictatorship.

(And they should also be asking about the looming social/racial crisis, the global environmental crisis, the imminent collapse of the US & Western economies, poverty and death in the Third World, radioactive genocide in the Middle East and the imminent World War).

Well, here are a few pointers:

1. GRASPING THE TRUE POLITICAL SITUATION

The biggest problem we face is that most people - including most people in politics - do not understand the basics of how power is concentrated and exercised. Thus almost everybody is firing off at the wrong target. Discovering the correct target is of paramount importance. This can only be done by a ruthless pursuit of truth alone unencumbered by any kind of sentimentality.

The important things to grasp are:

A: World power is in the hands of those who:
a). Control the system of money
b). Are using their control of money with great intelligence and ruthless efficiency to increase their power further.
c). Believe in 'Monocracy' (i.e. rule by a single mind - also called Totalitarianism or One World Government)

B: This situation has many different effects including:
- Our government is becoming a dictatorship
- Our workplaces and public places are feeling the effects of the dictatorship
- People are divided from each other and cannot spend enough time privately with each other
- Populations are being made ethnically diverse to make them easier to control
- People are finding and will in future find it even more difficult to remain physically healthy.
- The environment will be degraded e.g. by radio-active contamination to make low-technology living impossible.
- Economic activity will be 'globalised' so that no population in one place can look after itself.

2. DEALING WITH THE SITUATION

It is necessary to build a movement of people who act in a co-ordinated way to undermine the power of the Monocracy and replace it with a better kind of rule.

The Monocrats have power because people are willing to obey them or else are unknowingly manipulated by them. (The Monocrats use talk of democracy or market forces or historical inevitability etc to gain Authority for their programme)

It is necessary to spread the idea of an alternative Authority that people should obey instead.

This Authority must be the Authority of 'What is Good For the Whole' (Panarchy).

The movement to work for what is 'Good for the Whole' is the 'Panarchist Movement'.

Panarchists: 'Respect what is Natural and Pursue what is Good & True'

Panarchism means:
- Looking at things 'holistically' on a global scale
- Giving significance to all forms of life (all types of person in a society, all nationalities , all creatures) and seeking to accommodate them all as best as possible while protecting the overall good.
- Working in tune with what is natural (i.e. people's natural inclinations) to create strong forms of social organisation capable of defending the Collective Good.

Panarchism can be seen as a new form of Socialism, an outward-looking form of Nationalism, or a secular variation of Christianity.

'THE MANY MUST BE STRONG AND THE STRONGEST MUST BE GOOD'.

Panarchists believe that the ultimate aim is 'A GOOD WORLD'. This requires that the majority of power is in the hands of those who are seeking to create a Good World.

It is the duty of those with capability and goodwill to seek to become strong - and add their weight to the collective Force for Good.

POLITICAL STRENGTH depends on many factors. The possession of weapons on its own is not enough. Distribution of economic resources on its own is not enough. People need to be FREE in all ways - to think freely, to associate with others freely, to manage their own time freely.

Panarchists need to spread this Spirit of working for the Common Good, through Freedom grounded in intellectual clear-sightedness and political strength.

The Panarchist movement is essentially akin to a religious movement - so Panarchists should look to the experience of past and current religious movements for models of how to operate.

It will require a 'seed' of a sufficient number of people who understand what Panarchism is all about, who are able and committed to go out and 'Evangelize' others and set the ball rolling.

Once sufficient people are looking at the world in the right way then they can collectively Withdraw Co-Operation from the Current Power and set up an Alternative System.
